These camps are fun, hands-on, and educational, all while giving students the opportunity to experience college life. I thought I would pass on the information to you in hopes you can share with students. Distance Running Camp Be coached by one of the best in the nation – Dr. Jack Daniels, head distance coach at the Center for High Altitude Training. June 9-12 (Co-ed, Grades 7-12) Explosives Camp Learn about the science behind explosives and how engineers apply explosive forces to break rock to unearth precious minerals. June 29-July 1 (Co-ed, Grades 10-12) Socket to Me! Computer Camp This camp provides a hands-on approach to learn computer science and computer engineering. Girls: June 7-12 (Grades 7-10) or Boys: June 14-19 (Grades 7-10) Space Adventures! Camp Learn about all things space-related, plus build and launch their own model rocket. July 19-24 (Co-ed, Grades 6-8) or July 26-31 (Co-ed, Grades 9-12) STEPS Engineering Camp Science Technology Engineering Preview Summer (STEPS) Camp will introduce you to the world of technology and engineering. June 7-12, July 5-10, or July 19-24 (Boys, Grades 6-8) June 14-19, July 5-10, or July 12-17 (Girls, Grades 6-8) June 21-26 or July 26-31 (Boys, Grades 9-12) July 12-17 or July 19-24 (Girls, Grades 9-12) Super Science Camp You will get excited about science in this camp – physics, earth science, astronomy, and chemistry! July 12-17 (Co-ed, Grades 6-8) Youth Geology Field Camp Camp in tents, experience the outdoors, and take daily field trips to learn about the geology of the Black Hills. June 7-10 (Co-ed, Grades 6-8) or June 14-19 (Co-ed, Grades 9-12) Be sure to get registered soon as the camps are filling up quickly! We don’t want you to miss out on the camp you’d prefer to attend.
